My World

“He was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his entire oikos.”  —ACTS 16:34

Online “influencers” have changed the landscape of marketing. Because the more successful ones have become pretty wealthy, many people are envious of them. While sales are certainly the key to corporate success, leading a successful Christian life has nothing to do with economics. Selling products is one thing, but no one except Jesus Himself is famous enough or influential enough to actually change the world.

For example, let’s suppose that you could somehow broadcast to the entire world that you love Jesus and have entrusted Him with both your life and eternal destiny. Listening in could be, what, over 7 billion people? That would be a pretty amazing opportunity. But the truth is, when all the dust settled and the television crew had broken down the set and returned home, billions may have heard what you said, but only 8 to 15 could be confident that you were telling the truth. That’s why we’ve always drawn a strong distinction between the world and your world.

We’re all influencers. Our influence may have significant limitations in terms of scope, but in terms of depth, it’s massive! A slick video on Instagram may be able to get someone in your world to buy an air fryer, but you were uniquely platformed to help them recognize the transformational love that Jesus has for them and receive the eternal salvation that is found in no other.

So, never sell yourself short. You’ve got this.
